About Us

Allan E. Shaidi was born and raised in Tanzania. He graduated from Kenya Utalii College and worked in the tourism industry for ten years before emigrating to the United Sates in 1992, and soon after became a naturalized American citizen.

In June of 2001, Allan's life long dream of starting his own business began taking shape when he began selling arts and crafts from his motherland at craft fairs. After two years of traveling the fair circuits, Allan, with help from his partner, Nancy Burke, opened Zizini Arts and Crafts on Main Street, Hyannis on May 9, 2003. After many years of promoting Tanzania as a tourist destination, the dream has grown into starting Zizini Safaris.

Allan has been instrumental in raising community awareness of modern day slavery, of the beauty and potential of Africa, fair trade, and the need for sustainable economic solutions to alleviate poverty in the world. He has also helped raise funds to end slavery. Allan is on the Board of Cape Cod Immigrant Center, the Tanzanian American Investment Forum based in Houston, and is the recipient of The 2007 NAACP Cape Cod Chapter Joseph DaLuz Unsung Heroes award in the field of business. Eligibility for this honor is based on community involvement, length of service, personal contribution, leadership and role model.. Doing business for the betterment of mankind is Allan's driving force.

Born and raised in Tanzania, Edwin N Waluye acquired his education both in Tanzania and Kenya where he graduated in Travel and Hospitality Management. He briefly lectured on Management at a Tanzania Hotel School before taking up a position as National Hotels Inspector and Classification Officer with the Tanzania Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, a position which would consequently make him a member of the Secretariat to the National Hotels Board. Since his passion has all along been to be in the field and not policy making, Edwin moved on to private sector as a general manager of a medium hotel in Dar-Es-Salaam and eventually emigrated to the United States In 1991.

While in the United States, he enriched his leadership skills and management edge through working with internationally recognized hotel chains such as the Inter-Continental Hotel, New York; Hilton Gateway, Newark; Crowne Plaza, Englewood; and Holiday Inn, Saddlebrook; to mention but a few.

Edwin brings this very extensive professional experience as well as a wide network of travel related resources to Zizini Safaris."
